It takes a village
An informal and supportive group run by parents for parents and carers of children and young people facing mental health challenges. Though the group meets in Melbourn, you don’t have to be a resident of the village to attend – anyone is welcome.


Wellbeing Walkers
Wellbeing Walks are led by friendly, trained leaders who provide encouragement and support, and make sure no one gets left behind. Wellbeing Walks are open to everyone, but some are aimed at those who are less active or who may be facing mental health challenges.
Every Wednesday morning from 10.30am at the Melbourn Hub.


Meldreth Station Gardeners
We have two groups who garden at Meldreth Station. The Meldreth Veg Club take care of the garden in front of the station, and volunteers replant the platform tubs twice a year. The tubs are watered by Duke of Edinburgh volunteers.


Melbourn Village College

All Saints’ Melbourn
All Saints’ Church is deeply embedded in the fabric of the village, dating back more than a thousand years. It remains not only an enduring reminder of collective history, but also holds great significance for many individuals and community groups today.


United Reformed Church
Situated in the heart of Melbourn, the Melbourn United Reformed Church hosts a service every Sunday morning at 11am and monthly coffee mornings and community lunches.


Ukrainian Guests
Melbourn has opened its doors to guests from Ukraine, and this frame was painted by two of our younger guests as a gesture of thanks.


URC Eco Church
Melbourn URC has many initiatives taking place in its gardens to encourage biodiversity.


1st Melbourn Guides
A Girl Guide group open to all girls aged between 10 and 14. Our weekly meetings are varied and fun; we enjoy challenges, crafts, sports, games, and learn new skills. We also have camps and days out.

We meet in Melbourn on Thursday evenings during school term times.


Melbourn Dynamos
Melbourn Dynamos FC is a thriving and friendly community youth football club that gives boys and girls the opportunity to play regular football regardless of their experience or ability at all ages from 3 through to 18.


A10 Corridor Cycling Campaign
This campaign was set up to improve and promote cycling conditions for people of all ages and abilities who would like to be able to choose to use a bicycle as a means of transport or for general health and leisure in this area.

The Wonderpass Warrior Cat
Feather Tail keeps a watchful eye over the Wonderpass.


Melbourn Action Community Support
A community group for anyone in need of support. MACS runs the food bank and Cozy Corner at the Vicarage Close Community Centre offering refreshments, games, crafts and good company.


Aurora Meldreth Manor
A specialist independent day school for children and young people aged 6 to 19 with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex needs.

The support we provide enables each of our students to engage and progress at their own level within a learning environment designed to help them achieve their full potential as they reach adulthood.


Melbourn Youth Club
Held in Melbourn Pavilion with a team of qualified youth workers who understand the challenges young people face.


Melbourn Timebank Dog Café
Held once a week at the Dolphin Pub and organised by Melbourn Timebank, the Dog Café is two hours of canine fun, chat and coffee. Anyone is welcome to come along – it’s not just for residents of the village, and you don’t even need to bring a dog! Every Tuesday from 10am to 12 noon.


1st Orwell Scouts
1st Orwell Scouts is part of the Royston district serving the villages of Foxton, Fowlmere, Melbourn, Meldreth, Shepreth and Orwell. We have frames from the Cubs, the Scouts and the Beavers.


Melbourn Timebank
Melbourn Timebank is a friendly group of individuals and organisations swapping skills and support in Melbourn and the surrounding area. Members spend time helping each other or sharing hobbies, skills and knowledge and earn time credits in return. Everyone is welcome!


2484 Air Cadets
Founded in 1941, the ATC is community-based and open to anyone aged between 12 in year 8, and 17 years old.

We’re sponsored by the Royal Air Force and can give you hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop your skills to help you succeed in whatever you want to do.


Homes for Ukraine
South Cambridgeshire has warmly welcomed Ukrainians who have found safety here. Our residents have provided homes for over 800 guests. South Cambridgeshire District Council has a team of staff working to support both hosts and guests.

PMS Foundation
Phelan-McDermid syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that can affect many critical functions in a person’s body .
The Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation is doing everything it takes to make today better and the future brighter for everyone living with this complex condition.


Community Support for Dementia
Melbourn Community Support for Dementia provides respite and support for carers and families. The monthly Memory Café is an opportunity for those living with dementia or memory loss and their carers to get together, enjoy afternoon tea and socialise.


Stockbridge Meadows
Stockbridge Meadows is a 13-acre site just off Dolphin Lane that is owned by Melbourn Parish Council. This Local Nature reserve provides a mix of habitats, including meadows, ponds, scrub, and orchards. This diverse habitat provides a home to a wide variety of species including birds, lizards, grass snakes, and butterflies.


Holy Trinity Church Meldreth
Although situated in the North End of Meldreth the church has always been at the heart of the village. It is the only Grade I listed building in the village.


1st Melbourn Rainbows
Rainbows welcomes all girls from 4 to 7 years old for play, learning and tons of fun in a colourful, safe space.


Meldreth Primary School
Meldreth Primary School is a warm and friendly school which strives for every child to feel happy, safe, challenged and valued, and where the exciting journey to becoming a life-long learner begins.


Royal British Legion
The Royal British Legion has been active in Melbourn since it was founded in 1921, as a voice for the ex-Service community. In addition to the traditional red poppies, we have included the white poppy as a symbol of peace and the purple poppy for animals lost in service.

River Mel Restoration Group
The River Mel Restoration Group consists of community volunteers, whose aims are to restore and enhance the characteristic habitats, plants and wildlife of the River Mel.


The Cabin at MVC
The Cabin is a specialist unit at MVC for the education of students with autism. It provides a place of safety and belonging as well as stimulation and challenge.


Little Hands Nursery School
Little Hands Nursery School Melbourn, having a dedicated baby room, provides quality preschool care and education for children aged six months and over.


Melbourn Out of School Club (MOOS)
At Melbourn Out of School Club (MOOS), we include everyone into our safe and welcoming space. We provide a fun, stimulating and challenging environment which includes a spacious, well equipped outside area. MOOS operates in term time and is available for children in years 3-6.


Melbourn Primary School
We are a happy and caring school with a strong sense of community. Learning is at the centre of all we do; we strive to provide a dynamic and inspiring education which appeals to the many interests of the children. 


Meldreth, Shepreth and Foxton Community Rail Partnership
Our Community Rail Partnership aims to develop links with schools and local businesses associated with our local rail services, and to enhance sustainable transport links in the wider area.


Melbourn Baptist Church
Our church is made up of people from all walks of life and from many different nations. We love diversity and we love to see new people. J’s youth club, for school years 5-8 runs every Thursday evening in term time.


Melbourn Allotment Association
The aim is to provide an organisation for people in Melbourn and neighbouring areas who are interested in gardening.

We have established a community plot where we grow crops for our fetes. We meet at 10 am every Friday for a couple of hours.


1st Meldreth Rainbows
Rainbows is a fun and exciting programme for girls aged 5-7. It provides girls with the opportunity to develop self-confidence, build friendships, learn new things and have fun. This is done through a variety of activities including arts and crafts, getting in touch with nature, playing games and much more.

Brownies is aimed at girls aged 7 to 10.

Brownies develop confidence and self-esteem through having new experiences and learning new skills. We encourage girls to become active citizens by helping them understand and participate in their communities. Our programme encourages girls to learn about the wider world.
