Customers at the Plough in Shepreth need never miss their train again. Brainchild of Landlord Nick Davis, a screen has been installed at the bar, showing the times of the trains from local Shepreth station to London and to Cambridge and Cambridge North.
Nick, who has been a long-time supporter of the Meldreth, Shepreth and Foxton Community Rail Partnership, says, “The survival of the village pub depends very much on attracting visitors from outside the local community, as well as providing a service to the village itself. The Plough is hugely fortunate to be situated a hop, skip and a jump from Shepreth railway station. This enables us to support all forms of sustainable transport to our venue, and encourage our customers to leave their cars at home. Our departures board is also great for being absolutely sure that you can squeeze in that last pint before your train home!”
